After almost 25 hrs of rendering...Bryce reports an error and shuts down...That happened 6 times already on several occasions...Never had that problem with Bryce 4...
Soooo...I downloaded the famous patch...then it says ...:
"The Bryce(R)5 Retail Version was not detected...This ServicePack will not continue.."
Does this mean I do not need that patch....?
Do I have to reinstall Bryce 5..?
Should I hit my son on the head and steal my Bryce 4 back..???
Or what..
Gettin desperate now...

Where did you get Bryce 5? DAZ or Corel? The DAZ version is already patched to 5.01. As for the error, do you have any screensavers or power schemes going? If so turn them off...all of them.

It's the corel version...bought it a few months ago.. It's just the standard windows screensaver ( the pipes) I've also turned the virus-scanner off...

never turn your virusscanner off ,way too dangerous believe me reinstalling after a bios reformat isnt fun. it should work with or not at all.

Have you allotted enough virtual memory for your computer to use if it needs it for rendering?

Yeah, sounds like it might (might) be a lack of memory, virtual memory or even drive space? Bryce DOES create temp files when you work with scenes. They can sometimes be pretty large. AS
