The idea of these, as many will know, (as you can see from examples in link) is to create images totally shadowless free, as you can light them from underneath too. Used mine a few times but not often enough.

Definaltly worth making/buying...lol ps...thanks for the link too :)

hummm....I have those halogens in my basement used for pics for eBay! With white balance done, all works fairly well. Next, I need a sheet of linoleum, white backside up.

At work, since I always have a "carry cam" with me, I am sometimes called on to take pic of a recent project. This is a jewelry business. I use two methods and both give satisfactory results. One is a fluorescent bench lamp with tissue taped along the lamp as a sort of diffuser. The other is the elaborate set-up shown...tea pitcher sanded to dull the sides. This actually works well in on-the-spot shots. The lighting is another flrorescent lamp.

Surprising how well simple devices do work sometimes.
