Hi all... Hope everyone is having a great day. I'm having problems with the Koz hair... for example the long hair. I put it on, conform to the person, and when I render there is this aweful band below the hair line, and coming in from the cheek... almost like a shadow I guess, I'm not sure.. Thing is it looks terrible, and I can't get rid of it. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance as always Cher Arctic Scropio

Check you transparancy falloff in the material room. Make sure that it is set to 0.

If the problem persists, perhaps you could post a sample render of the problem.

I've also had this problem before. My fix (which works) is to make sure that the hair transparency node is connected to all 3 of the transparency inputs. By default the falloff input tends to get ignored, causing the "banding" problem. Hope this helps. If not, show us a pic.

OH! I furgot to tell ya! Do exactly as you did above for ALL parts of the hair. With this particular style I believe there are 3 material zones: Skull, Front & Hair. You've got the Skull part right. Now, do the same settings for the front and the hair zones and all should be well. To avoid this problem in the future, you may want to resave this figure in your library with these settings. Call it "LongHairEve P5" or something similar. On a side note - You might also need to adjust the shading rate for each part of the hair (look on the parameter dials under properties). Set the rate to 0.05 However, I think this last bit only applies for Firefly rendering. Good luck!

Also change the highlight size and specular value to 0 on all materials on the hair if using P5 render

The trans falloff can get pretty annoying sometimes. But 90% of the time it's the culprit.
