That Poser 6 is gonna be a big letdown, I never render in Poser so that has no effect on me but i cant really see anything else that interests me, I only use completly original models so the content doesn't impress me either, I guess the time has come for me to spend my update money on something else instead, Ohwell i guess all will be known in the next few weeks, Lets hope there are more surprises waiting for release day :)

Well, Poser 5 seemed the same way, but I think it turned out better than it seemed when it first came out. With P5, tyhe material room alone was, IMO, worth the upgrade, so if Poser 6 has a feature or improvement that alone makes the difference, then that's all it needs... I think it will probably, after an initial "letdown" )for not being everything that was exzpected) eventually be seen to be an improvement.

Yeah the problem is they seem to have put all there eggs in the render engine basket and not worried about the IMO needed updates to the cloth and hair engines, I guess well have to wait and see, I hope they aren't just releasing an update because all the other packages are releasing updates.

By "completely original models" do you mean customized DAZ characters? Or do you model your own figures from scratch?

I for one am excited, yet addmitedly aprehensive. I'm posting/lurking here because Poser exists...and I hope it continues to. IMO if you are not enjoying it, there are other things to do in life. I bought a Sex in the City dvd....not much there that interested me. I didn't hang a note on the door at Borders assuming everyone wanted to know how I felt. Not trying to be nasty but can we be at least somewhat constructive? I don't know, I saw quite a few other features mentioned. I just don't get where you guys are coming from. This negative post/"wait and see" to cover up your negative post routine is beyond me. I mean I understand you got burned on P5, a lot of us felt ripped on that one, but the Poser bashing posts are just old and quickly losing credibility. And where did the all the eggs in the render basket come from? The fact that there's a lot of chatter about the renderer on this particular forum doesn't mean CL has any plans one way or another it's all speculation...

Deecee yeah we model our own mesh's

Grandpuba eeer your clever aren't you i thought this was a discussion forum about Poser, Should everyone on here be nicee nicee about CL because you say so, I've been using Poser for many years and would like to carry on but you saying its all speculation is ridiculous, We were told final details would be here on the 10th and the final details reveal new rendering features and new content, If i am not allowed to discuss my disapointment at that on this forum then so be it, Sadly enough it seems no one is able to talk openly on this an open forum anymore and that is a shame, Perhaps you should go and take look at the Silo forum or something, The fact that you have jumped into a thread just to be negative about a very debatable point just shows how people in the modern world today demand that we do as they say, Sorry my freind but i come from a democratic society (UK) and as such im very used to being able to state my opinion about anything without harrasment, Shame on you and all like you.

I never said you weren't entitled to your opinion and I never made any demands, just don't get why you feel the need to be negative about it in such a manner. The good people at elsewhere will be happy with your postive input. You said it, you are on a Poser discussion forum. When you publicly express such an opinion, you can expect feedback. If you consider my post harrasment, I suggest you're of a thin hide "my friend". And If you're implying I am from the States, I am not, so shame on you! That really really hurt.

In all fairness, there is some surface creedence to the concerns about everything in P6 going to the render engine. There are no new non-rendering features. Increased stability of exisiting stuff with a few minor interface tweaks. That's about it, on the surface. But to enable some of those rendering elements, there will be new shader capabilities, at the least. Insofar as recieving responses to a statement that are contrary to a posted one, it is just as grievous an error to assume that "jumping into a thread just to be negative about a very debatable point just shows how people in the modern world today demand that we do as they say" as it is for them to do so. Especially when the point is admittedly debatable and the motivation for such a post is uncertain -- some folks just tend to be devil's advocates. Then there's others more like RK...
