I am probably missing something completely obvious, but if anyone can answer my question I'd sure appreciate it...in the P5 props library I see where to add the cottage to the scene, but if I want to move the whole cottage or scale it, exactly how do I do that?? what I mean is, there seems to be no "main" cottage to move that will move the whole thing or scale the whole thing, it's all just parts and pieces, like front wall, back wall, roof, etc etc...I know I can move my camera, but that doesn't really solve my dilemma if I want the cottage in a specific spot in the scene or a specific size...I dont want to have to move or scale each piece!! thanks to any and all who can help! :D Karen

The easiest way I found to move ,scale is to load a ball prop and parent the body of the cottage to it. Use the ball to move. When you have it positioned, make the ball invisable and turn off cast shadows.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

that makes great sense but, exactly WHERE is the body of the cottage??? all I see are parts and pieces...that's my problem...I KNOW I'm likely just not seeing what should be obvious to me or I'm doing something wrong...how do I select the whole body of the cottage and not only each individual piece ==:0

Open the Hierarchy editor, pick any piece you fancy as the main one and drag the other parts' entries onto its entry. You can then use the master part to move the rest.

open the parameter dial window (window/parameter dials), select a part of the cottage - you'll get a word like "side wall" up top of dial window - click on that and you'll get a little menu - click "body" and that should give you the control you want. not all props give you the ability to scale using this , but give it a try cheers

thankyou both for your suggestions, I really appreciate your time and help!!!!! dragging & dropping all other parts onto a "main" part in the heirarchy window worked...I can now move the cottage as one whole object...I tried selecting one part of the cottage and clicking on body under the parameter dial, but for some reason it selected the Fairytale Story Millenium Environment walls & terrain that I have in my scene instead, which happens to be the only item under the Figure dropdown at the bottom left of the render window...the cottage is a prop and doesn't show up as a figure, so I guess trying to select "body" must automatically default to selecting the body of the only known figure in the scene...but I could be (and probably am) wrong! thanks again for all help! :D Karen

Thank you so much, RHaseltine, for your help too. I also had the same problem with various DAZ scenes. Thanks again!!
