Well this was my last week of medical leave after my surgery. I called the office today to tell them I'd be in the office on Monday. Well, my boss was quite surprised. He told me that the Doctor's note that I gave him said I'd be away for 2 months. He wasn't expecting me back until April. I reread the copy of the note, and it indeed says 2 months. I'm such a friggin stooopid idiot! F@#$* **&#;$# Sh#$ for brains numbskull! AAARRRRGGGGHH!!!! Its times like these that I wish life had Menu Edit - Undo

Then you should try to correct yourself with the boss...."Monday is the beginning of April right??.....Darn Drugs!" Then you're home free. Ohhhhh, I'm sure you just can't wait to get back to the grind instead of sitting home at the PC, eating Ice cream, watching movies, etc, Huh, huh?...LOL

yes take it up with your doctor and let him restate that a 2 months rest is a nescity. healing needs time , your not a workaholic are you?

No I'm just a regular aholic. Rye and Port are my poisons. Any excuse I give now will come up lame. The cat's out of the bag. My boss did say however that he'll keep my work load light. So, maybe I'll just do my Brycing from the office. My office computer sucks compared to my home computer, though.

I don't think that just because you called and said you'd be in is good enough reason to go back against a doctor's statement. Just because you think you feel well enough doesn't mean that you are. I really think you should double check with you doctor again before resuming work, even with a light load! Just my 2 cents.
I know that things are different in Canada, here in the States (at least where I work) we actually have to have a doctor's note giving permission for us to return to work.
:D

Here we have to have a Doctor's note allowing us to stay home. You can go back whenever you want. Also, I already checked with my Doc and he cleared me for work, that's why I called into the office. But I may have an out yet.
This afternoon, while going out to do some grocery shopping, I slipped on a piece of ice and actually pulled my stomach muscles abit right where the incision is. I'm OK, but I could exaggerate my injury and call in sick next week.
I hope you guys don't think I'm a lazy slob for trying to dodge work. I work in advertising. Its not as if I'm saving lives or anything important.

You lazy slob stay home and take as long as you need...the full Monty, to recoup. Your health is definitely, without doubt, hands down bar none the most important thing. I took a fall down a flight of stairs taking out the garbage, my arm going through the banisters balustrades on the way down, garbage bags flying all over the place. Guess I was shock but believe or not, my main concern was, did the garbage spill out of the bagsjeez, Id hate to pick up after that, the injury was painful enough to go to the hospital to get x-rays taken. The doctor in attendance says, no breaks or fractures, I take a few days off work then go back shoulder feeling sprained. Thought maybe I can work the kinks out using work as exercise. 3 weeks into the injury and my job, my primary care doctor insists I get an MRI. I do, fractured shoulder and a torn rotator cup shows up. But arm was feeling better at that point. The fracture had healed on its own and although the rotator cup doesnt bother me, I forget when embroiled in my work but a sudden move instantly reminds me that the rotator cup is still torn. Moral of the story, just because you feel a 100% doesnt mean you are. Take as long as possible to fully recoup.

Go in on Monday, then call in on Tuesday...'I thought I was ready, but I was wrong!' Edit to say: Better yet...leave at lunch time
