All you merchants out there, I cannot tell you how annoying it is when someone creates a texture or an add on for an existing product and then doesn't include a link to that product on the product page. I see all of these neat things that I might want to buy, but then have to hunt them down across different websites. By the time I find what I'm looking for, I don't want to buy either the add on or the original product. So please folks, cater to impulsive shoppers, you'll sell more products...

one problem i can see with this idea, should the product that the add-on was made for be located at a different site is that we would be directing customers to cometitive merchant sites (in competition with renderosity for sales) which we are not supposed to do as merchants HERE. if the product is located at renderosity, it would be more do-able. From as far as I can tell from the rules for renderosity merchants, we can MENTION the location of products if they are located at another site, but cannot LINK directly to them. Sorry if this is not of much help.

Then why not do it? We should (though not everyone does) in the Galleries. If it's here, provide a link, if it's not mention the location. The product producer will appreciate and no doubt reciprocate...

Shaybear provided incorrect information.

We do allow merchants to link to needed base products in order for their product to function. The links dont have to resolve to Renderosity products.
The links should resolve directly to the base product needed and not a main store page.

How about if merchants would provide the names (not necessarily the links) to items used to create their preview images (textures, hair, clothes, etc.) Some do, but most don't. Would also help generate sales - not to mention it's the polite thing to do (IMHO) when you use another artist's product in your preview.
