is there a plugin that automatically clones an image all the way around(center outward) to create bleed for printing?

I once encountered one, and there was a demo version that worked. There was 'bleed' in the name, but I could not found it when I looked for it some time ago. It was for, like Photoshop 3, did not even work with transparency. It did not actually clone, but 'blew' the last pixels uitward. The stripes that gave made it less usefull, because mis-cutting the paper (what bleed is all for anyway) would reveal a rather strange pattern of outward stripes. Maybe that is why it has gone after all... What you describe can be done rather easily (I do it when I need absolutely every centimeter of the image AND I need bleed). You can duplicate the image, swap it in the right direction and put it against the side you want to add to. You don't clone but mirror. I sometimes darken of lighten the part I add, or make a soft transition by adding a mask to the original layer and blurring that. Sometimes something to contrasty near the edge will have to be cloned away, to prevent it from appearing twice when those pesky printers insist on cutting one meter of printed material at once and thus going into the bleed. (Which would make a strange song, even when sung by Madonna; "Into The Bleed", but that is not what we are talking about so why bother) Hope this helps. Besides from the Madonna part of(f)course.

unfortunately what you describe wont really work for what i need. I have an extremely large(standee display) of a man that needs bleed for production and the diecut of the display follows his form almost all the way around,so the edge isnt straight....but thanks anyway

That must be hand-cloned yes... Or maybe this link is something (Google - you got to love it)
