Hi All,
I email tech at CL about some features I hoped would be included when I signed up for the new version. I asked about HT compatibility, FF speed & 3rd party add-ons. I thought you may interested in their response.
"Dear Mr. Lorenz,
While we weren't able to make Poser 6 multithreaded (we tried, but it's a nontrivial task to rewrite that much code- we're still working on it though) nor were we able to do much to the Firefly engine (we're licensing it so any changes have to be made in conjunction with the original developer, and that takes time) I can say that Poser 6 certainly supports hyperthreaded processors in that it runs on them- we've eliminated the troublesome data execution prevention bug that plagued Poser 5 users on 64-bit machines running XP.
Also, we've tested Poser 6 with third-party figures and they work just fine- since we didn't change the library structure or the file format, we didn't anticipate any trouble there and sure enough anything that works in Poser 5 will work just as well in Poser 6. And, like Poser 5, Poser 6 allows you to have multiple Runtime folders, so you can link your Poser 5 (or 4) Runtime into your Poser 6 Library palette and use the stuff you've already installed without having to move any files or reinstall a bunch of stuff."
I hope this helps!
