Hi there anyone.. I've just posted my first lightdome-image... Tell me what you think....After a 1:02:16:34 rendertime I was happy it finished...but now I'm ready to hear some input on how to improve the image...I'm not too happy with the shadows... thanks for putting up with my insecurities...;-)

Can see the shadows behind her from the LD. The single dark/hard edge shadow is probably from the sun. If you turn off the sun and check "soft shadows", adjust the shadows in the settings on the lights you can tone those down quite a bit.

I've tried it without the sun...but it looked a bit as she was standing on nothing...I agree the dark shadow is a bit too hard...sooo the other shadows have nothing to do with the position of the dome...?!? hhmm ..I'll try to change the settings on the lights...

Aye, the main reason to use a light dome is for soft shadows. Your sun defeats these, completely. Perhaps try placing the dome to one corner or other, and then using spotlights (as opposed to radial lights) "Track Object" with the spots to the figure. This will point them ALL at your figure... You really should NOT use the sun in conjunction with a light dome, it defeats the effects because of it's harsh, stark shadows... The other reason to use a light dome is for more realistic lighting OF the object itself, or global illumination. You appear to have pulled this off wonderfully! The model is very well lit... My only problem with the image, itself, is compositional : your figure is way too small. There is too much white floor in the scene, taking away from the importance of your figure... Perhaps change the POV, or just pull the camera in? Just some ideas! Good work...

Yes, wonderful concept and a good image. I agree with the others concerning the dome and the Sun.
