I went in to do some rework on a file. Originally, the file was an angel holding her hand out for a little bird to land. There was a photograph background for the sky, a bryce mountain and tree with snow to complete the scene. I opened the file and there were no lights (at all). I put in some lights and suddenly discovered the only thing left was a bald naked lady and the bird. I had saved and reopened the file before so I know everything was there in the file before the last save. Any idea what happened (outside of the usual computer hiccups).

The only advice I can give is to save your files in progressive versions. That way if one gets corrupted you can fall back to the last saved version. Don't save the same file over and over. -JH.

Ah, yessss.... backup, backup, backup!!! Luckily I do have two older copies, but they weren't near that completion point. Thanks for the assist though. I just wasn't sure if this was something that's happened before or just another computer hiccup that has nothing to do with the program. Thanks again.

I've had a similar thing happen to me too. A character that I was working on suddenly had her head disappear (and no, the head was marked as being visible). All that was left was a pair of eyeballs!? Whilst completely unexpected, and somewhat frustrating, it did give me some ideas for some other interesting picture creations. Fortunately I had progressive saves of the character and could go back to these, but it does seem to be the case, even with the 4.03 patch, that frequent saving is the best idea.
