Hi all

I wonder if you can help me, I have a slightly irritating problem (no nothing that I need penicillin for).

In the attached image I've outlined the problem. Occasionally I get this, where the shadow badly pixelates when I turn ray tracing on for shadows. I've upped the shadow map to 1024, just in case, but that didn't help.

Oh and its the Firefly renderer, with cast shadows, smooth polys and ray tracing turned on.

Any Ideas?

Thanks

John

You may want to play with the shadow bias and the min shading rate (in the render settings). The artifacts at the strap look like you need a lower shadow bias, where the grainy shadow from the hair would probably benefit from a lower shading rate.

Thanks Stewer, I reduced the shadow bias and that sorted it out. I had a shade rate of 0.5 as it was, lowering that didn't make much difference. Thanks for the help :) John
