I've got a character engaged in conversation. I'm trying to have her walk off at the end. When I try to transition into the walk, it creates all kinds of wacky moves for 20 or 30 frames BEFORE where I start the walk, and then she starts walking. I've tried zero transition frames, up to 30. When I use 30 transition frames, she "glides" without walking, and then starts walking. What am I doing wrong? thanks Blain

set up your animation with keyframes as you had it.
then go into the keyframe editor and display the curves for the motion(s) that is messed up.
the default spline interpolation will cause odd movements prior to the keyframe which is the start of the next motion.
You probably want to 'break' the spline at the transition point.
it is one of the curve options in the keyframe editor.

go to the last frame of the conversation and make a key for everything. this will lock everything down and minimize the effect her transition has on anything occuring before it, provided she makes no extreme movements during her exit. as mark notes, check the figure's curves in the graph window. unwanted movements usually show up as kinks in the curves.
