I have a UFO alien figure that shows up as one sided, How can I planer map this figures UV, So that the back half of the figure shows up on the template? I want to make a high rez template to get better bump map effects. In order to do this I have to get past this unexpected problem with the uv.

Check out Steve Cox's tutorials at http://www.uvmapper.com If you need any help after that, just holler.

Load him into UVMapper, and under Tools, choose "Split Vertices*, then apply Planar mapping again. It should give you the front and back mapping. Hope this helps. =)

Actually, if you use "split vertices" the model will then look faceted in Poser. Poser uses common vertices to smooth the model so splitting the vertices will make it unable to do that (this will also give you hard edges for furnature, etc.) Splitting the vertices doesn't affect texture mapping. Instead, simply load the model into UVMapper, select "Edit->New UV Map->Planar" and be sure "Split by orientation" is selected. Then save out the updated model as well as the texture map template. Also, take a look at my tutorial for more information. Steve

Well it loaded smoothed but the texture map did not fit even tho I saved the obj. I try it this way Steve, tHANKS, aS FOR HARD EDGES this is great news for poser users and I thank you for this information:)

You might need to delete the geometries rsr for the alien for the new obj to work.
