Subject: Jail cell... Might this be a freebie anyone would want???

Hi all! I just made a quickie jail cell today and thought someone out there (here) might like to use it!! If so I'll take a bit of time and make the door functional and break it up for individual texturing. Let me know if it might interest you!! Hosting might be an issue though so if anyone can kindly host it that would be swell!!!!! Your pal, G If anyone can guess where the pic filename is from, they get a cookie!!

RATS!!! It doesn't say the filename!! it is: "Hello Dad! I'm in JAIL!!.jpg" So much for my fruitless attempt at humor! G teh 0R1G1N@L G_MAN!!!!

Little Dragon & bigjobbie are correct!!! I'm pretty sure it was Jello Biafra (and Don Was of course)!! You both get cookies!!! Check the "cookies" folder in your documents and settings folder and there they are!!!

Hey bigjobbie... you just reminded me of when I was in the 5th grade ('81) and I got suspended for 2 weeks for wearing a Dead Kennedys t-shirt to school ( it was the "Too drunk to f***" one!!! LOL!! Ah, those precious childhood memories!!!

Quickly modeled a commode for the cell... it kinda sucks but it's better than nothing cuz when ya gotta go, ya gotta go!! estherau has kindly agreed to host it for me so I'll get to work on uv mapping and retexturing (those are Max textures & I don't think I can redistribute them!) and I'll try to get the door to open and close on the correct axis. A big thanks to esther!!!! G

If the door slides -- linear motion -- it can be made as a morph.

not hookers... look at those chicks!! Ok they're not supposed to be hookers but they certainly don't look like they're going to church!! The blonde is "supposed" to be a character from Silent Hill 2 (I'm working on a short of it) and the last one is "supposed" to be the end boss from the game...

The other way to do a door without using a cr2 is to make it a seperate prop, with the origin set so that the y-axis runs along the hinge line. Then it opens with a yRotate. Fine for your own use, less good if you plane to distribute the model.

I have to start over... I can't ungroup it in max... arghh! I could just leave it as is with no working door, the bed and toilet are seperate props... It's what would work best for the end user... I did make this mainly as a freebie! Perhaps I'll just leave this one as is and put it in the freestuff and start over on another one that will be more functional. Any opinions?? Can ya'll use a jail cell that won't open!! At least there's the toilet so whomever's stuck in there (cuz of the door) can take care of business!! G

I think you could regroup it in UVMapper, or even in Poser itself with the grouping tool. I'd be happy to make the mesh posable for you, if you're truly stuck.
