I got this today... Dear Vue-er, Dear Friend, We are writing to you today to apologize for the delay in fulfilling your Vue 5 Infinite order. Dave, our order fulfillment manager was taken to hospital urgently on March 14 (yes, the very day Vue 5 Infinite was released) with what looked like a heart attack. He's feeling much better now and should be out of hospital very soon. We know that you are eager to set your hands on Vue 5 Infinite, and that you're not interested in hearing excuses for any delays. We understand your point of view and apologize for the inconvenience this is causing you. Please be sure that we are doing our very best to fulfill as many orders as possible, as quickly as possible. But we have obviously experienced unexpected confusion and delays. With the imminent return of Dave things should hopefully look better very soon. Shipping from Europe has not been affected by Dave's sickness. Your order should be shipping soon. Thank you for your patience and kind understanding. Best regards. Nicholas Phelps, president. Kinda puts things in perspective...Get well soon Dave!

It says right in when you buy it: Please note that due to large amount of orders, the processing of your order may be delayed up to several busyness days (orders are processed in a "first come, first served" order). Be sure we do our best to fulfill all orders in time. We appologize for any inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding. Anyone buying it knew there was a very likely chance that their shipment would be delayed. They never said it would be on time. What an insensitive idiot. I hope your shipment gets lost in the mail and you get it in July.

Thanks for the update - I am sure people will understand that you are doing whatever possible to face the demand. Please send our best wishes to Dave. Now for the post I deleted from Pollee - call me whatever you want but I simply cannot tolerate the kind of cynical comment that was posted. This is the very kind of behavior that is slowly making this place less and less welcoming. So a word of warning - as Antycon said in his ironic remark : Please think before you post. e-on software is not Adobe or Microsoft. They have limited resources. And as Garic pointed out, they let people know ahead of time that there would be delays with fulfilling orders. Thank you for your understanding

Thank you Agiel. (I have deleted my post because it has no sense now;) (couldn't edit it))

I don't know what Pollee posted but I hope no one got the wrong impression from my subject line that contained "sad reason why". It was meant to show sympathy for Dave and understanding about the delays...not as a sarcastic comment. Just clarifying.

agiel posted Tue, 22 March 2005 at 4:01 PM

No problem Chris :) That was not related to the 'sad reason why'.

I got the same email today and about an hour later UPS was delivering me my copy of Vue Infinitie. I guess everyone got the email from e-on. That doesn't mean your order may not be in on a UPS truck somewhere if it says its been shipped. :o)

I am confident that E-on is rushing out as many copies as they can. The fact that so many people received their UPS shipment shows that they are shipping to the best of their ability. And really, isn't that all most people want to know, that they are trying? I haven't ordered my V5I yet...lack of funds since I just bought a great new comp just for V51 and P6. But when I do and they say it's delayed, I won't be upset. These things happen. I'm glad I'm not in Customer Service, because I don't believe the customer is always right. Especially if they're insufferable twits who demand everything the moment they think of it. Get better soon Dave!

Best wishes Dave!!!

XENOPHONZ posted Tue, 22 March 2005 at 4:51 PM

Just went and checked at E-on's site. My copy shipped out today. I should be seeing it soon. Hopefully by Friday, as I've got Good Friday off. I am saddened to hear about Dave. I hope that you feel better soon. And, yes -- I fully expected the delay. It's no big thing. Be well.

Something To Do At 3:00AM

If you disagree the moderator deletes your post. Just thought everyone should know how the image of this forum is controlled.

Pollee - please take the time to read the Forum FAQ. Of course the forum is controlled - it is moderated. As a moderator, my primary job is to make sure the forum remains a welcoming place for people who want to take the time to come around here. If it means I have to delete comments that can cause trouble in the forum, I will not hesitate a bit. If you are unhappy with e-on's decision, there are many ways to express that. I was not the only one to believe your early comment was out of line.

ddiethelm posted Tue, 22 March 2005 at 6:06 PM

How could anybody be mad at a company that makes such cool software, and is contentious enough to tell you beforehand that delivery may be delayed....AND the reason is due to someone's health....plus they're a small company (from my State :-D ).

best wishes Dave

I got the e-mail as well and I wish Dave the best. That said, it might be a good idea in future for E-On to cross-train others in the organization to take his place or reassign resources temporarily to the shipping/fullfillment area. These kinds of things happen in business all the time. I really respect E-on for sending the e-mail to explanin the situation which shows they are a quality company.

Pollee posted Tue, 22 March 2005 at 8:11 PM

I don't agree, but I easily see how it is on this forum so I won't continue.

Adios Pollee - I wish you luck in finding a forum appropriate for needs.

Glad to hear Dave is on the mend. I also received the E-on update regarding shipping delay and appreciate their open communication. I've ordered apps before and when they did not arrive, I've heard "Oh, glad you called, your pucchase is on back order." Yeah, right. Anyway, patience all, will be worth the wait I'm sure.

Cheers

Pollee posted Tue, 22 March 2005 at 9:28 PM

I didn't say I was leaving so... I said I wouldn't continue an arguement. Good luck & Hola to you too :-)

I got the email after they sent one telling me they had shipped it. Doesn't matter if they did or not, I felt bad for the guy and told them so. Just goes to show they were busting butt to get it out to us, and although I appreciate it...please guys take a break, no more heart attacks. NO program is worth someone going through that. (and all who know me here know that I am one of the most impatient folks here). lol Marque

jc posted Tue, 22 March 2005 at 10:23 PM

A lot of firms would feel that a communication like that was too personal or "not professional". I got that email and am glad they feel they can level with their customers, rather than looking up or down to them. Rest easy Dave - we can wait.

Pollee posted Tue, 22 March 2005 at 10:35 PM

It sounds by the email that only when Dave returns will the shipping process continue. Is anyone getting this from the email?

jc posted Tue, 22 March 2005 at 10:51 PM

Not how i read it. Dave is out of action (and was as of 3/14), yet people in the U.S. are reporting that they are receiving product. So somebody is doing it. European shipments were not affected by Dave's illness.

Dale B posted Wed, 23 March 2005 at 7:32 AM

That's how I read it as well. They must have someone filling in on the job, as things are getting shipped. But as the pinch hitter doesn't know the system, things are proceeding slower than usual. Plus you have to consider the effect this could have on the rest of the people. If Dave was a friend, well liked, that it going to slow things as those friends worry about him. And I got my Infinite yesterday, and it shipped on the 17th, so the process is moving, if not as fast as potentially possible.

jc posted Wed, 23 March 2005 at 9:22 AM

I ordered on 3/12 and received my shipping notice email this morning. I'm in San Francisco area.

thorntoa posted Wed, 23 March 2005 at 11:05 AM

I got my (US) copy yesterday. So they are shipping . . .

best wishes to Dave, but really strange that the defeat of one person can knock out the shipping system... i hope that with the money of the sell of V5I e-on can give to Dave a collaborator...

jc posted Fri, 25 March 2005 at 12:04 PM

Got my copy yesterday (see message 24)
