Does anyone know how to render to a new window in P6? Im going crazy when rendering anything larger the preview window because I cant scrol the image as it renders. On bigger images this would mean I'd have to wait until the whole render finishes before I is anything's wrong.

Click Render > Render Dimensions... Then choose your render size. Also you can force a final aspect ratio to fit in the preview window. This is great for low-rez test renders. When you have this option selected Poser can show you the production area in the preview window. ( Display > Production frame... ) Nerd3D, Poser6 Beta Tester

Yeah Ive used the Area render and I find it very useful. There are so many improvements concerning workflow with P6 like the render Wipe but I wish I could hit render and it would open in a new window like it did in P5. Then again, if that option is out it's a small sacrifice for all the new gimmicks. Thanks for helping out guys

'What is render wipe?' You can learn all about render wipe (and other render options) at the link. PoserPros has a small tute on it. macJackson posted Tue, 22 March 2005 at 4:12 PM
Thanks!
So "wipe" is just the transition effect between two renders? It's not real easy to see since she used the exact same pose. Can you tile the renders to see them side-by-side?

Like you I miss the render to separate window, I used it all the time. I have thousands of files call Render 1, Render 2... Render 110. I've noticed that if your Render Size is larger than the Render window you can scroll around it by clicking within the image and dragging. There's no scroll bars or any other visual signals to show that this is posable.

You can pop one render out into a new window (after it's finished) using the icon towards the top right (the unlabelled one beside area render) and display another render from the history in the preview area, then position them side by side.

'using the icon towards the top right (the unlabelled one beside area render)' Good grief! Would it be asking too much to have poser use pop-up descriptions like every other app on the planet? P6 sounds good, but some things about poser are still in the stone age. mac
