In Poser? the same if you wish.. I learned to get the same setting of from DP3D into Poser too but I think in Poser6 he looks more great! that why I work on the bump and specular to get the right look and for use the new features of P6, I will try to use AO to see what we get and from what I saw this morning was really cool! give me little more time and when done everyone can play with :) sort of CHALLENGE

"Oki Doki GWeb here you go! please think about that this are only test view and not final textures so it can looks little funny sometimes and in some areas" Yep bright background sometimes can make it look funny. Dark tends to hid some things. I do not recommend to practice with dark background for final render. I like lights because I can see it better ;)

Catharina, Do you find it odd that neither figure has a "Lips" material zone? I don't think I like that too much. :)
.
Mec4D posted Wed, 23 March 2005 at 1:57 PM
Netherworks , you are right.. I can't find the all standard material zones and that is funny, I don't have personally problems with because most of my textured models of my customer don't have the material zones.. but ok I can make for me a copy, so if that is possible maybe I will make a new cr2 files with new material zones as well with the male character it get simple but with the girl not because we can't make a glossy lips or add bump maps too.. but I love the character and I love the model as well the rest we can create self in 10 min or? I love to create and play around with this stuff.. it make more interestig for me...

maxxxmodelz posted Wed, 23 March 2005 at 2:05 PM
Cath, looks really excellent. Can you tell me if the specularity on his skin (the forehead, nose, and under the eyes) is from material settings and scene lights, or if it's "baked" into the texture itself? In other words, would this texture work in animation, where the lighting situations in the scene vary? Often times I find that some of the best textures are virtually useless for animation, because they have specularity baked into the texture, which as you know, doesn't look right under different lighting situations. Either way, it's a great job on texturing James! I think James is one of the best male characters to hit Poser in a long time.

Yeah, I was playing around with the default Jessi texture and adding some noise and turbulance for mottling the skin and I was going the lips and said "um ok, where are the lips!". I wanted to add a little gloss there. It should be on a new zone to add lighting effects. :D Catharina, that texture looks awesome. My wife peeked over and said "man, that looks REAL!"

maxxxmodelz I will include all maps separate so specular will be separate so you cna use for animation, I work in preview mode that why you see the all highlight, after this the color diffuse textures are reworked to matt and the specular do own job.. we don't want high lights reflections on our color textures that was good for poser4 tp play with ... and I go to set a little professional free package so a little bit trust please :)

Most times, folks put more weight on the renders that actual USERS do, anyway. It's REALLY nice to see what the masters can do, but if "regular folk" can do good renders too that is a sure selling point. 8-)

Dear Cath,
What did Rodolfo whisper in the ear
of Mimi when her eyes stole his heart in an instant?
ed i miei sogni usati
e i bei sogni miei,
tosto si dileguar!
Ma il furto non maccora,
poich vha preso stanza
la dolce speranza!
Now all past dreams have disappeared.
Beautiful dreams I'd cherished,
immediately vanished without a trace!
But the theft does not wound me deeply,
because, in their room they have
been replaced by sweet hope

Cath, thank you for your efforts in showing us guys who dont have P6 yet, what it can do. But can we see the effect of the lighting without specular and shadowing on the origonal image you projected. One thing I really cant stand is when the sheen is panted onto a texture as I have purchased several sets which have the specular on the colour maps which is pointless, as it will never dissapear! Another problem is when merchants have contours on the skin, which when the object is rotated dont look right from the side as the geometry does not match. Each time this happens I feel cheated as I could have projected any texture of myself on from the front and it look great and perfectly realistic, Please dont take this badly but I find it is very hard to tell what exactly poser is contributing to your maps. But I really like the look of the character, will you be selling it as a pac when finished?
