That is one awesome table.. How about a set of six chairs. Actually two.. LOL One standard style and one captain for the heads of the table.. ?? Just a thought.

Way cool! And if you are taking requests... much trouble to do an oval topped version - sort of conference table type?

YEAH! more furniture. It's so discouraging how little traditional furniture is out there. How about a persial rug for under the table. Or a side-board mabey.
Spike posted Mon, 22 January 2001 at 8:34 PM
I will get started on the side-board ASAP! Hey Anton, Do you have any look in mind for this? 3 drawer 1 cabinet,..... Spike

Sideboards usally share the same style as the set. Long rectagulat shape. four elevated legs like the chairs. Two swuare doors on the left and right front with a single drawer above each door. Smooth top surface with a short splashboard along the pack to protect the wals. Sideboards were used to store silver and linens for the table. Food was brought from the kitchen and put onto of the sideboards after serving. Food was never set on the table. :) Just a suggestiom. Wanted to share.

"splashboard along the 'back'..." not 'pack'

Hey Spike, just found your table and chair set in the store and bought it. Can't wait to use it.

As someone who designs furniture I just wanted everyone to know, the quality doesn't get any better or more beautiful than this. Beautiful work Spike.
