Subject: March Challenge - Social Issues - Entry #5

I'm not sure if this qualifies as a social issue, but the parents, children, relatives and friends of the 38,252 people who died in traffic accidents in 2003 would probably think so. In 2002, traffic accidents were the #1 cause of death in the USA with 38,491 fatalities. I'm not sure of the latest statistics, but I doubt they are much lower.

When you get behind the wheel of a car, act responsibly. It is not only your own life that can be lost.

i would say so, great entry!... i practice "defensive" driving... crazy drivers out there :] (especially those taking pictures while driving... lol! jk, jk!!)

I just did the math again and it actually comes out to a traffic fatality every 13.73 minutes. Better, but still scary. I'm too lazy to change my image though...it gets the point across. And I don't have the time right now... ;)
