Subject: Not really a city...

Ok, Ok, it's not a "real" city, I know, but I kinda liked the idea of something emerging from the rock, so I ended up with these ruins in a dooming sunset. The material on the "city" is Hidden ase slightly modified to look less "hi-tech". i love the overall effect and the shadows too. Love Daniele

Daniele, It looks good, nevertheless, and even though it's not a city, I bet you learned something useful by doing this exercise, which was the actual intention. :) They make for very convincing ruins, too. :) Cheers, Mike

hmmm.... an ex-city? :) that's cool, and then the grass grew at the top parts there. i like it.

Thanks, Mike! I must be specializing in ruins these days: Here's a variation on the same topic, let me know what you think about it! I'm gonna post a more "conventional" city image in a short time. Btw you're right! I did learn a terrific lot thanks to all of you and I hope my work can be useful to some other folks! :) Cheers Daniele

I have one thing to say to this: WOW! That's superb! I mean, theat,s really good! It puts my efforts to shame, LOL! This kinda looks like old Aztec ruins or pueblos (maybe?) or something-- I'm not really "up" on that sort of thing, but what a great entry! Cheers, Mike PS I think we need to continue on the function idea for the next VC, not necessarily a city, but something. Those functions are powerful things!

ooooooh....! these are great, badan. :) these cityscape terrains are so fun, it'd be cool to do like a flyover of 'em.

I agree, Bloodsong, that would be cool and it just might inspire me to make my first .avi in Vue, something which I don't have the slightest idea yet how to do. I'm thinking about buying a cheap used PC to use for nothing but rendering, anyway. I never did finish my "city" for this VC, and don't have any ideas for the next one, LOL. Actually I got distracted. I started building a cave in Amorphium, and it's starting to look decent, so I went and gave into the temptation of trying to develop that, with a thought towards making a quick animation, traveling down and through it. --Mike
