Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 11 2:52 am)
Most zip files containing Poser content comes pre-structured. You should just extract the Runtime directory into your Poser installation folder. If you really need to put stuff there manually, it's real easy. Characters are .cr2, props are .pp2, poses are .pz2, hair is .hr2, faces are .fc2, hands are .hd2, lights are .lt2 and cameras are .cm2. If they are compressed, they would have a "z" instead of a "2" on the end of the filename. Textures obviously go into the Textures folder. Geometry (.obj) is a little trickier. On pre-Poser 6 you need to find out what folder the geometry is supposed to be located in, easily gleened from the above-mentioned files and put the .obj into the directory named. The location should be on a line similar to this one located near the beginning of the file: figureResFile:Runtime:Geometries:Yggdrasil:dog_ears.obj All of those files can be easily opened in any capable text editor.
Film equipment. Where do I look for that?
Dendras sells a near-complete collection of film studio equipment on his fifth CD collection at Animotions. You can also purchase the items individually, although they're a better bargain as a set.
Might be cheaper than commissioning custom work.

I can't seem to add new characters to Poser 5. I've downloaded a couple and tried putting the elements in the libraries. It never works. What do I put where? Also, I need to hire somebody to build a couple of models for me. Film equipment. Where do I look for that? thanks Blain hawk-handsaw@charter.net
