I've only been working with Poser for a couple of months (Poser Artist). My copy of Poser 6 arrived yesterday afternoon and I find it very user friendly...except for having to switch gears with the materials room, etc.and figuring out how to set Firefly so it wouldn't over expose. (actually got that fixed, lol) There is enough here to keep a person busy for years!!! LOL This is probably the stupid question of the year, but how the heck do I get my Poser4 and DAZ Studio stuff into Poser6? (simple English, please. I sometimes get a severe case of the DUHS)I actually like jesse.....now to figure out how to get elf ears on her. *grins* Miriah

To get your extra content here what you need to do is point Poser 6 to the Runtime folders with your other content. To do this, you need to open the Library and point it to the base folders (you'll see a folder named "Downloads" and another named "Poser 6"). When you do this, you'll see a check mark and a + button on the library. Hit the + button (its tool tip reads "Add Runtime"). This will open a standard operating system browse window. Simply point it to the Runtime folder you wish to add and voila. You now have another Runtime library set. As for the DAZ Studio content, some of the DAZ meshes are not compatible with Poser so keep that in mind if they don't work.

Also a lot of DAZ studio content is in a propriatory format that doesn't work with Poser.

Well, pages 85-86 of the PDF reference manual covers it....and you might also search thru this here forum. There was an answer to this exact same question yesterday.

Thank you much! I am on the world's slowest dialup and apologise if I missed something here in the forum. It's hard to keep up with this place, and all of us asking the same question must drive the regulars nuts. LOL I did find out that a V3 character I created wouldn't load, so I tried exporting her as an obj. file, then importing into Poser6. I worked like a charm. (Had no idea what I was doing, I just experiment with things)I will dig out the book and give it another look. I must have missed the info in my excitement. silverthornne, thanks! It's really quite simple, huh. ghelmer, she is my first experiment in the face room. Thanks for the lovely comment! Miriah
