I need to add bumps maps to a product i am making and the renders are just awfull i get render artifacts that are not good looking it must be something really small that i need to do but i would like to know what... Can someone give me answers of how they dealt with that type of problem.. here is a render so that you can see the problem i have to resolve... thanks

What bump setting are you using? Poser uses very small bump settings. Like, under 1. Well under. Skin should be something like 0.01. I usually have it set to less than 0.1, even for fairly rough objects.

Reduce the JPEG compression?

Yeah, it looks like poor antialiasing due to low resolution or highly compressed bump map. Less compression and higher res would solve it most likely.

If you are using P5 or higher turn texture filtering on. Nerd3D

I highly recommend using PNGs for bump, displacement and transparency maps. You cannot get a true black or white with JPEG.

[slaps forehead] Can't believe that the 'no true black areas with jpeg compression' thing has never occured to me. DOOH!
