I hunted around until I found a tachicoma, but it seems strange to me that no one's offered an Aiko or Vicky3 conforming cloth for The Major. Anyone know of such a thing? Even the Shiro style guns that used to be on freestuff have disappeared... (C'mon, I'm not the only one looking, I know it :) ) Or do copyrighted characters have the same Poser-immunity that celebs now have?

Rosity has lowered the boom on trademarked/copyrighted models. They're still out there, I'm sure, but not in Rosity Free Stuff.

Exactly why my Futurama figures are not available for download... If I could make everyone swear to only use them for parody use then maybe... US Copyright law allows parody as "fair use". Unfortunately as soon as somebody makes a screen saver I'm fried. But... Motoko isn't really that unique. I'm pretty sure I saw a Koz hair style that would pass. Hip boots... gad there's probably 50 to chose from. A little texture work, add a jacket and render! Nerd3D

Where did you find a tachikoma? I'd love to have one since they where my favorite characters in the series. I do hope they have them back in season #2.

Didn't Royloo have a kusanagi character? pretty much all his stuff is based on copyrighted stuff though, so I doubt you'll find the link in freestuff.

Royloo's models are in free stuff, but they aren't named by name, if you know what I mean. That's what a lot of people did. Their trademark-infringing models are still in free stuff, but under generic or slightly altered names.

The tachikoma I got from a link buried in these very forums:) I'll try to link to it, never tried doing that in these forums before. If it doesn't work, you should be able to find the thread by doing a search for "tachikoma". It's from Naoki's Poser shed, http://www.katch.ne.jp/~naoki-s/top/top.htm , it's hidden away in the Yahoo briefcase, so I suggest you follow the directions from the thread I (hopefully) linked to 'cause there's some trickiness getting there.

Yeah the jacket and the FMBs I could probably scrounge together, it's the err.. leotard I guess I'm having most difficulty finding the just-right figure for. But I will persist, I haven't searched everywhere yet. Thank goodness there's a good poser fanbase.

cool, glad you found it it's a great model. Hehe It'd be a fun group project to try to recreate parts from the GitS SAC 3d opening in poser 6 (when they shake the bugs out). Thanks. I've been watching Stand Alone Complex on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim block for several months now, and I've developed an admiration for their childlike spirits. If your mind doesn't automatically insert a "skidding" sound effect when it slides into the frame, I didn't do it right. :) Cartoon Network has actually put some decent animon there ... Trigun, Wolf's Rain, Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, Read or Die, Full Metal Alchemist, FLCL, Kikaider, Big O, Witch Hunter Robin, etc. ....

Yeah but with the exception of Bebop and Big O the dubs have been unwatchable (for me... anyway I'm a subie. :) ) Didn't know they showed R.O.D. I assume it was the TV series and not the OVAs...? I couldn't believe how unwatchable they made Gundam seed. :( (One of the best shows of the last 2 years, as is Wolf's Rain)

They should have had more tachikoma-centric episodes...

I haven't seen it either. I like the OVA series though. Tachikoma is a mecha :p Speaking of mecha, I just saw Shouji Kawamori's (Creator of Macross, and Arjuna) new show Aquirion that just started airing in japan. The animation was mind blowing for TV, definately on par with Macross Zero.

Dunno if anyone's still reading this thread, but I hit too many dead ends in my search so I've taken another tack and have taken a couple of Uzilite's packages and tried my hand at trans/tex mapping them into something that looks right. Comments are welcome. Now I need to work on the hair. I've got the Charleston hair and am trying to tweak it in Anim8or, but it's a painful process. if anyone has any suggestions for a more friendly tool for morphing/deforming an existing mesh I'm all ears.

BTW, the white flecks are just artifacts I haven't cleaned up in my trans maps yet.

That looks pretty good. Probably good enough if you are going to Cel shade.

Thanks. I could probably get closer just by omitting the "musclese" pack from the Veronica year 3 body suit, but I think it adds something to the otherwise flat body suit..

I dont know if anyones going to read this,.. I just found the thread when trying to hunt down something else I could have sworn existed from a few years ago,.. I was pretty certain there was a Bonaparte model from Dominion Floating around and as for the shirow weapons I've made many searches and forays into finding I found a bunch that were never poserized or even textured they were in milkshape,.. cause I was looking at doing a Galhound scene and he uses some different seburo guns in there I have everything listed in most books only ones I cant find or dont think anyone modeled are the MW-0206 but its very similar to the Firesplash so Im going to modify that when I get off my ass and use that for that one and the Rifle behind kusanagi's back in this picture which leads me to my other thoughts sorry long nite drank a lot sobering,..the coat seemed to be the hardest part to come up with I've been staring at my Shirow lithograph for years wanting to do that scene in 3d so grospolina (King of Swords) love Silent mobius btw,.. if you got anyfurther with that costume or anything you want to discuss bout shirow or anyone else for that matter :) sorry its such a ramble but you know how it is,..

That is some impressive rambling. I didn't get much beyond what you see in my last post. If you want the tex and trans maps I used I can send them to you though they won't be much use unless you have the Uzilite Veronica Yr3 outfit (for the boots and bodysuit). The jacket is a tough one, I'm still stuck with the "When Tomorrow Comes" jacket (also from Uzilite), but it's definitely not the ideal. It does have a morph to bunch the sleeves up, but the main body of the jacket is missing the puffy look required. The belt is actually from a Vicky2 costume off RDNA I think was called "Sexy Secretary", so hard to keep track by name of the gigs and gigs of Poser stuff I've bought and installed. As for hair, Egypt Hair gets close for me, but I still haven't sorted the dozens of morph dials. Now, about "discussing Shirow", hm.. Shirow rocks the world. I'm just jonesing for the last volume of SAC to come out domestic right now...

Im waiting to by the last vol of S1 DVD's and I've been stuck @ ep 20 or so of 2nd GiG the second season the Particularist 11 is a pretty interesting story line but sure yeah I'd be interested in those textures especially because of the push up able sleeves umm you could send it too Amancue@gmail.com or just im me and we'll set something up,.. I found royloo's old Cyberdoll Outfit of Kusanagi the purple and black thing,.. but its integrated with the p4 girl,,.. its not just a clothing object,.. now I remember why I keep forgetting about it
