I need to add bumps maps to a product i am making and the renders are just awfull i get render artifacts that are not good looking it must be something really small that i need to do but i would like to know what... i am using a gif file (trying to save on the file size) that is the size of the original texture template for a product.no reduction on the size of the template when i apply gif.... i put the bump settings to 0.1000 and i render with poser 4 renderer with apply bump maps etc... and i get ugly results... Issue # 2 2nd question is how do you save the settings of the bump file to keep it at 0.1000 cause i am trying to save the bumps settings and it always reverts to bump map strenght equal to 1.000 instead of 0.1000 wich is anoying cause i want subtle not full effects from my bump map... i want to save the settings in mat pose edit but it does not work..... Can someone give me answers of how they dealt with these type of problems.. here is a render so that you can see the problem i have to resolve... thanks
Your problem is caused by using the .gif format. Bump maps need to be in grayscale file formats like .jpg, .png, .tif, .pict, etc. .gif is a flat color format.
I had a weird issue where my background wouldn't take a color change. I think it was caused by unattached nodes in the material room. Try removing unattached nodes and changing your setting again.
