The following happens to me from time to time and I have not figured a way around it (it happens in P5 and P6) - I tried almost anything. It comes on both platforms Mac and PC.
!. I load an object file I have made in Cinema. (No matter if I import it or if it comes from the libraray)
When continuing, the object is there and shows up, but all the simulations including hair are gone. Deleting the object and reloading it does not help. I also have gone throug the .cr2 - its no longer there. But the message still comes up. Deleting the dynamic files also does not help.
Has somebody experienced this also - and if found a way around it ? Its annoying to recalculate all the simulations again and again.
Thanx Mungo

This is caused by a space in the name of the cloth object. Rename the geometry before you import it so it has no space in the name. It is possible to hack the PZ3 and rename the .DYN files to save the scene. Find the prop in the pz3 and delete every thing after the space in the name. Then edit the file name for the DYN files to match. Nerd3D

Thanks nerd. I'll also try this later. When I've lost simulations in the past because of spaces in prop names, I was under the impression that the DYN file itself might have required some editing if the simulation was going to be retrievable. As the DYN files are coded this didn't seem possible... so I'm very grateful also for this advice.

If you have to try this, when you edit the PZ3 be sure you get all the instances of the prop name. It's been a while but as I rememer it's in 3 places. Nerd3D
