Subject: Has Geocities stopped linking to files?

I've been trying to put my new hair up in the freestuff section, but have removed it as I couldn't get the link to the zip file to work. Does anyone know if geocities have stopped outside linking? If anyone wants it it is available on my old site here: http://www.geocities.com/byallassyde/index.html Alla

Yes, they haven't allowed linking for a long while now. I usually just copy the URL and paste it to the browser and that works to get the download. The hair looks really good from what I see in this pic. -JH.

Geo wants you to link to a HTML page, rather than directly to the file, so they can flash an ad. Unfortunately, R'osity still does not allow FreeStuff links to HTML pages. Some of my stuff is still at Geo and it seems at least half the folks here can get around the Geo block to the .zip files posted there.

Thanks for the help everyone, I thoguht that it must be something like that:( It's one of the reasons that I've started a new site at http://designzndigital.50megs.com/ but then I found out that they also wont let me link to a file from an external page! Oh btw, Alla... You obviously have a lot of talent for creating hair... I think many people agree with me on this: Michael could use some nice new hairstyles subtle hint ;)
