I am having trouble exporting a Daz Bear from poser into Moray 3.5 and then rendering in PovRay 3.5. The mesh moves over OK, but the texture ends up being a flat gray and nothing looks like fur when I try rendering in PovRay. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Dave

Have you tried Poseray? The transfers from Poser to POVray are pretty easy. http://user.txcyber.com/~sgalls

Yes I have. What I've been doing is exporting the file from Poser as a .3ds file. Then I convert it in Poseray to a Moray .udo file. This is where the problem begins because the texture doesn't follow the mesh. I will have to do a little more research to find out if Moray is capable of using UV maps in its current version. Does anyone know of a good freeware/shareware modeler/renderer that supports UV maps? Thanks for the reply, Dave

One point you should be aware of is that the version of the .3DS format that Poser exports is limited to 64K polygons.
Try using .OBJ
For a free modeler / renderer try Blender or Anim8or, or look out for magazine cover freebies.

You're losing your UV mapping. I use Blender. I think it's great.

Thanks for the replies. I'm on my way to the blender site. Dave

Would like to see your POV-ray renders, Dave. I have a few in my gallery, but definately want to improve.
