Hello, The 3rd panel is comin off very dark (where the animals can't be seen) on two of my monitors. On the other monitors it looks fine. Can anyone see the 3rd panel or is it too dark? I'm not sure if its the monitors calibration or the picture.

I think maybe some small amount of backlighting would improve it tremendously. Just to slightly outline the sleeping shapes.

Is this more on the mark? Or is the tree too dark? Any other crits welcomed. Thank you.

Heh, no problems :) I'm certainly not critisizing it, the pictures are just fine :)

I think the new light you added should be placed behind the giraffes, so that most of them are in the dark like in the original, but their outline is illuminated as though by the moon. Sort of like how the leaves are lit above them.

Alright. I'll work on that subtly. I raised the contrast on the bright monitors so all monitors have the same look. Thanks again.

#3 is still a bit dark for me (My monitor was calibrated with an official Pantone Spyder photometer) - but quite some time ago. I'd say needs 10% or so lighter. Saving up for my own personal Pantone calibrator, so i can stop borrowing one.

That looks washed on my monitor. I better recalibrate all the monitors. Here's a new one. I don't want to promote bad spelling so that word above was subtlety. Thanks a lot everyone.

You might want to download the free Adobe Gamma utility to check your monitor's calibration - lot cheaper than a Spyder although not quite as effective!! :-)

Adobe Gamma was the best calibration i could find before using the Pantone Spyder true calibration device (about U$170? for the cheap one). But the real calibrator showed that i was off quite a bit in color, gamma and brightness/contrast. But i like knowing that the web sites i build have a real reference behind them and will look good on any properly set up monitor.

The image in #9 looks fine on my monitor. The image in #7 looks washed out to me, too. BTW, nice touch on those legs on the giraffe in the middle picture. Love that bow-legged look.

I added the back lighting on #9 as suggested and made the shadows less dark. Thanks DMM. Giraffes to me are comical, inspiring, cute and yet powerful, huge, and invoking of fear and respect. What a wonderful magical creature. I've been fascinated by them since I was a kid. Thanks Chuck for the compliment. After the calibration I will review to see if #7 is washed still. Thanks again all.

On my monitor I prefer post #3.

On mine post 3 looks best also.

What happened to the post that someone (I forget who)brightened? #3 & #4. The post is gone without a trace? What happened? Anyone?

Shonner deleted his posts and fails to answer my complaints about him doing so. That is what happened (or is happening). Some people where do they get off... I am pretty angry because it ruins the thread &... Why bother?
