Subject: Stupid Mat Room Trick; Black to Blonde

OK, so a coupla times I've felt the overwhelming need to render a blonde (haven't we all?), but I only seem to have dark textures fer the "perfect" hair that fits the character. Added to that is the fact that I am too incredibly busy (pronnounced "LAY-zee") to either search fer one or photoshop one up....what to do? Simple, add a color math node to the material 8-) Make sure to kick the Texture strength down a bit, or it'll just look like a Color Burn in PhotoShop...unless thas what yr after ;-) Note; by changing the main Diffuse color &/or the Value 1 of the color node ya can get all kinda wonnerful hair colors (a rose color on Value 1 makes a nice strawberry blonde)

Now that is Usefull, i wish i had known that before i changed several hair colours in photoshop... Thanks...

You can do even more... By using the blender node you can create hair with differently colored streaks..

This concept works on lots of things including clothing and such. I have bought hair but I rarely buy textures because it's so easy to change them in the Mat Room.
