TIA
My aspiration: to make a decent Poser Render I'm an Oldie, a goldie, but not a miracle worker :-)

Drag it by the title text, resize and position to your liking, then save your preferences in the option within the Edit menu. From your screenshot, your desktop resolution seems very low. Poser 5 doesn't like anything less than 1024 x 768.

You're welcome. :) If your monitor (and eyes) can stand it, always go for a high resolution. Poser and Photoshop like as much room to breathe as possible. I'm currently using a 19" CRT at 1600 x 1200 and that's not really big enough for my liking.

I've gone to two monitors myself. The left hand monitor is just the working area, and all the tools and menus are on the right hand monitor. And this way I can have the working area set to 1200 x 900. And the text in the tool and menu right hand monitor is still big enough to read.

Once you get your doc window and tool bars in the right place, and have set your 'Prefered State', also set a 'UI Dot'. I find that the Poser intreface has a habit of going "wonky" from time to time, and a UI Dot is a quick way to fix it. Also save a pz3 as somthing like 'My Default.pz3', you can double click on this to open Poser in that stste, if the UI dot becomes unavailable for any reason. I also backup these files: Poser #Poser.RSR C:Poser #RuntimePREFSPoser.ini C:Poser #RuntimePREFSpreferredState.pz3 Call me paranoid if you like, but when - and from my own experence I do mean when, not if - Poser goes into melts down, I find that restoring these files will usually fix things.
