Sheila you were right! my camera is going for correction to focus for low light images! 8-( I have to thank you for telling me all about this with the Sonys. Had an awful time finding it on the Sony site, then when I rang Sony UK they didn't know what I was on about. Ah well, why am I surprised. Anyway nothing new from me after tomorrow. Off to a wedding this afternoon (not offical) but will take a few there. Bye for now folks Pat

Sony UK didn't know what you were talking about??? You actually had to SHOW them and TELL them about their own recall of their own product???? oh man...that's bad! Well, I'm glad you're gonna get it corrected. I'm surprised Sony never contacted you. Pascale, you knew about Sony's recall, didn't you? the 717 has a focus problem. After we bought ours several years ago, they sent us an email saying the cam had some kind of focus problem. they said we could return it and they would fix it free of charge, and they would also pay for the shipping. anyway, Pat, I'm glad you're gonna get that taken care of!!! Have fun at the wedding and enjoy your Sunday!!!! :)

Sorry to hear that Pat - hope you get it back soon.

And every one said, 'If we only live,
We too will go to sea in a Sieve,---
To the hills of the Chankly Bore!'
Far and few, far and few, Are the lands where the Jumblies live;
Their heads are green, and their hands are blue, And they went to sea in a Sieve.

Huh??? O_o I never had any focus probs with my 717 Sheila!!! I don't even know what "Sony's recall" means! O_o But I'm not surprised that they didn't even know about what Pat was talking about cos there's lots of incompetent people in this country! Customer services suck around here!! U Americans would be amazed at such incompetence! U have to call at least 3 to 4 times before something gets done!! This is so annoying!! The last time we moved house, I had to call the electricity and gaz suppliers (which are the same ones but I still had to call 2 different numbers!) 5 times before they actually understood that we moved house!!! Incredible!!! And this is just an example amongst thousands! I truly hope they will sort it out quickly Pat! Let's pray for u! :)

just go to Sony's website & email them Pascale. yep...Sony apparently has a problem with the 717...a focusing problem...their fault. they contacted us i guess it was a couple of years ago. i don't know if it's ALL the 717s or just the 717s purchased prior to a certain date or what the deal is, but it wouldn't hurt to contact them. Pascale, i understand your frustration. oh, i was soooooo mad today, and i rarely get mad. our stupid bank sent a us a letter saying if we don't pay our safety deposit box fee they will get someone to drill it open, charge us, and then sent our contents to the state of Ky. I PAID them!!!! this is the 3rd stupid letter they sent. they even charged me a late fee which they took off. i told them the exact date i paid, have a copy of the receipt, and i STILL get this letter. Ooooooooh, i was furious!!!!! anyway, just wanted you to know it's not just your country!!!! :)

Why would I e-mail them Sheila!!! I have NO prob with my cam!!! As for ur bank, I'm really surprised cos I thought people were much more competent in America!! More efficient and very good at customer services! Is that a legend too?? O_o

Sony "Pah" do you see Canon or Nikon making records! Let camera manufacturers make cameras and record companies can do what they do best "make records" Sorry but there is too much of this Oh we can do that trend these days, The big camera manufacturers have been around for over a 100 years in some cases, yet companies that have still infants in the business seem to think they can do it too. Dont even get me started on banks!

The Truth is Out There

Well, I'm very pleased with my Sony cam Simon! Beside, I've heard that the Nikon D70 has its probs too so I guess that even the ones who "have been around for over a 100 years" still aren't perfect huh! ;)
