You have a Nikon 70-300? That impresses me enough already. The image is a good example of a good lens. Thanks. I am surprised the exposure was not longer. This did work fine. TomDart.

Way to go! I'm going to start dreaming about 300mm...300mm...300mm... I really want to be able to shoot the moon like this! Jackie

well, thank you all for your very kind comments. I'm glad I posted it now. I'll be sure to post more pics and start commenting on others work as well. I still use my old Fuji 40i but I bought a D70 80-70mm kit, 100 cashback was enough to buy me the 70-300G lens for 99. The moon was very bright, left on auto settings it was very over exposed. Shutter speed was higher because I took the shot handheld. I have a tripod and a remote but no matter what I did the shutter release was enough to blur the shot each time, my tripod is way to flimsy for such a heavy camera. Thanks David
