From the website: The Invisible Library is a collection of books that only appear in other books. Within the library's catalog you will find imaginary books, pseudobiblia, artifictions, fabled tomes, libris phantastica, and all manner of books unwritten, unread, unpublished, and unfound. You might find this an interesting browse.

Where on earth do you get these?? I couldn't believe some of the titles.:D Thanks, it was fun to browse. I wonder.. (in Mr. Bean tones) How does starting a mini-challenge (like Jon's Haiku) sound on the theme- 'The worst title that you can think of for a book' and/or 'The worst name for a writer to have that would surely stop any of his books from selling'? :)

Real or imaginary?

hanevi posted Sun, 24 April 2005 at 1:35 PM

Why not both? It would be freaky to read real ones, and fun to make up imaginary ones. But I suppose the imaginary ones would have to be plausible to be funny. The real ones could have a little bracket with 'real' written in it or something.

I'll have to think about this one. :)

Oops! A small slip. It should have been 'The worst name for a writer to have that would surely stop any of his/her books from selling'? We don't want any gender bias here. :)

Oddly enough, there is an author named "Edward F. Worst" - certainly he owns the title for the worst name of a writer. :D

:D Ha! Ha! That was terrible. (I'm grimacing with delight) And it would have to be Frost who wrote about snowy evenings. Truth is stranger than fiction. :) Did Laurie Driver write 'Modes of Transport'? :D

Hey, It's way past midnight for me. I'm logging out now. I'll login again later and catch up. How's this- 'All you wanted to know about cooking Rhubarb' by Hortense Smales. :D
