Subject: Calming down extreme highlights on Photo texture maps.

I know there has been a debate that with the new rendering options, baked highlights aren't as desireable as they once were. And in some textures, the highlights are too white, which can render grey under shadows. This is a simple tweak to textures themselves. I suppose there is a way to do it in the nodes themselves but this is in Photoshop. basically you just make a top layer a very very pale pastel skin tone(pink, peach or yellow) and set it to darken. By changing the opacity you down down the white spots without loosing darker details, though you could do the same with a dark skin tone and "Lighten". This works great on african, dark photo references. This example is crude but it conveys the idea. Just a little trick. Anton
