Well unless you have a DSL or Cable line, I wouldn't bother to download Corel's Bryce Beta for Mac OS X. After a gruling download on a 56k modem (35 megs) I fired up the Beta. Well try as I might, I could NOT find anything even remotely new with this version. the only thing is that it's Carbonized. So it has pretty menus (translucent). Well some of the controls (like the sun/moon sphere) respond at an alarming speed. At times much to fast to get an accurate position. It is also completely Save disabled. And prints a transparent watermark on any render or partial render. So doing a screen grab will do you no good. I was under the assumption that it would include some NEW things that might appear in the Bryce 5 version. Nope, not that is apparent anyway. Well that's my 2 cents on this. And I just hope that version 5 will be out soon, and keeps a low upgrade price tag, and is chalk-full of NEW features. We can dream. But it does look like they are at least doing something. Hope this helps. James

How do you like OS X?

Well OS X is "Beta" also, so I'm not sure. It's interesting that it's all UNIX based (funny thing). But I'm glad that the Top names are "Carbonizing" their software. But I do have tons of other software that will have to be run in the "Classic" mode. It does seem that programs written for the OS X will indeed run a bit faster. But I'll more than likely cave in and move to OS X. James
