LOL, I had begun work on a sequel to my "Venderosity" image a long time ago but never finished it...reading that sure makes me want to break it out again. ;) SnowS

I think there should honestly be a freebie requirement at every store for any merchant before they actually begin to sell anything... Now that's a very interesting idea. I know I certainly check out a merchant's freebies before making a purchase, and the quality of those definitely affects my decision. If there aren't any, then I'm taking pot luck, and I'm not a big fan of that, in general.

I'm thinking of officially taking up a collection to send this poor "merchant" a copy of Gray's Anatomy... because apparently he's never seen a real live human vagina in its natural position before.<<<
ROFL! I just went to this merchants artist page...she could be a he. ;)

Well if it's a "she", then the sex change went horribly wrong given the resulting products... eugh.
For clarification - how can a woman NOT know where a vagina sits on the human body?

or whomp out a mesh courtesy of some cheap NURBS-based modelling program Hey watch it buddy, I resemble that remark ;P Seriously though, I agree with you 100%. Poser Pros and Daz used to be top notch in having actual quality items, but I see both of them slipping and it really bothers me. And don't start me on those vagina's! There are quite a few people in the Rendo store who have obviously never seen a nakede woman before :/ Try an 'off' white text. The harshness of 'white' tend to sink into the eyeballs and live there for ten minutes after reading the page eek. I tried #AFCDB4 in PSP on a screen grab and it looks nice and doesn't burn the retina ;)

"For clarification - how can a woman NOT know where a vagina sits on the human body?" LOL! That's like a guy not knowing where to find his weenie when he goes to take a leak. Erm, unless of course he's very, very drunk, then he might have an excuse. ^^ ;-) Somehow I don't think that's what happened here, though. Honestly couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that in the marketplace.

I'm glad to know that I must not have been the only person that contacted you about text size! I think what you see on your screen is not what some of us see on our screen. The new text size is better, but still way smaller than the text I see here on Renderosity. At least this time I didn't have to copy the text to Word to make it large enough to read. Now to the content. I like reading your unbiased blathers. However, this time I must admit that your bias towards Poser 6 shows through. Still enjoyed reading it though.

I like your text size...now :) I can actually see it... Also like your up front attitude....you haven't gotten flamed yet ??? There are quite a few people in the Rendo store who have obviously never seen a nakede woman before :/
In today's world, I suspect that this would be nearly impossible to do......even if one deliberately made an effort to avoid seeing a "nakede woman".
As has been pointed out many times -- there aren't that many women around who are 6' tall and perfectly proportioned.
But in the Poserverse, something like 90% of the women are 6' tall and perfectly proportioned.
So who's complaining...........?
Xena posted Mon, 25 April 2005 at 11:18 PM
Yeah, but surely having a vagina at the front of the pubis instead of under it is a little harder to believe than a perfectly proportioned 6' tall woman (of which there are actually plenty - they're called supermodels. Hell even a lot of regular woman are proportioned perfectly. I was until I had 3 kids ... well except of the 6' bit, I'm only 5'9" without my platforms on)? Is it so hard to get a skin texture anatomically correct?
XENOPHONZ posted Mon, 25 April 2005 at 11:49 PM
Oh, I wouldn't question the anatomy problem that Peng has pointed out.
And I'd like to add a small item to his list of complaints:
I've seen some (supposedly attractive) V3 characters with the hard look that 'party girls' often get by the time that they reach 19 years old.
That 'party girl' look does nothing for me. In fact, it's a big turn off.
I can think of a few examples of what I'm talking about -- but I'll refrain from mentioning any.
After all, there's no accounting for taste. It might be someone else's favorite model.
.......if they like that certain hard look around the eyes. The look of someone who's seen too much too early.
I've met a lot of women that I'd judge to be "perfectly proportioned".
Very few of them were 6' tall. Very few.
But I know that they exist. I've seen them on television!
;-)

Excuse the pun, but, Screw the Vagina.... what is going on with the Balloon Boobs and Collagen Nipples? I guess the "artist" is keeping with the theme of the pricing structure and Username by making the characters appear possessed! But then again, they did sell a few, since there are comments!

LOL.. I always love the reads, Pengy! I'd actually like to see what the worst poser product ever made at the highest price.. it'd be an interesting challenge.... And then conversely, the best poser product at the best price. (freebie base figures not allowed.)

My thanks, folks. Seriously... things like this need to rise to the attention of more than a couple QA departments, and maybe we can ratchet up the quality levels around here to a point where purchasing something from someone you don't know isn't so much of a crap shoot. I think everyone may be mildly surprised when we go hunting for another elephant in the room, probably by the end of this week or so. /P
SamTherapy posted Tue, 26 April 2005 at 11:03 AM
Peng, it's more than the QA departments, some merchants need to take a good long look at their attitude. I had a merchant accusing me of trying to make trouble for him because I left some honest (and not very complimentary) feedback on a product. Another one tried telling me I didn't know how to use Poser, because I'd asked if he was going to release an upgrade for his faulty product. One of these merchants is a well known, well established seller here. The other was a newcomer. Neither of 'em will get my business again.

" Peng, it's more than the QA departments, some merchants need to take a good long look at their attitude." I agree. However, when it comes to product quality, the QA departments are the final gold/crap filter... and in far too many cases, they are the only filter there is. As far as merch attitudes, that is something a little beyond the ken and ability of any store to really control, at least outside of the more egregious examples. The best you as a customer can do is name 'em and shame 'em (but when you do, you really should provide evidence to back it up...) /P
SamTherapy posted Tue, 26 April 2005 at 11:59 AM
Agreed with all your comments there. Rosity's QA dept is a little hit and miss at times. Example, I noticed that one of the products you commented on had customer feedback about a seam. That's supposed to be a no-no according to the merchant guidelines here.

I think that other thread made 'em mad, Pengy. Ah, well.....it could potentially result in some major firestorms -- should we begin to "negatively critique" selected merchants. In such matters -- people tend to choose up sides, and then go to war. Just a thought.
ynsaen posted Tue, 26 April 2005 at 9:55 PM
"Rosity's QA dept is a little hit and miss at times." Renderosity does not have a QA department. They have testers who are looking for packaging issues, not quality of creation.
