Tried this out last night in Carrara. I made a few mistakes but I think it will look great when I get the hang of it. Thanks for the great tutorial!

Looks good but as best as I can tell, it ain't workin' in Carrara. It seems mesh form is not a conversion option nor does the retain deformer option come up. It may be though that the metaballer in Carrara is the issue. I'm going to look into doing it with spheres or a handmade shape... - Dave

scratch that - I've got some semblence of it working now. I hadn't reduced the particles density from 10... so the issue was me. : ) - Dave
