I was told that Poser 4, since its realise is pretty much bug free unlike the newer Poser 5 and 6. So I am wanting to pick up Poser 4 but cant seem to find it to purchase. Can anyone give me any information on where to find it to purchase it? Thank you in advance for any help in this regards.

The down side is you can't do dynamic clothes or hair with Poser 4 and there are less material and lighting options. Plus the firefly renderer in Poser 5 and 6 is better.

...and yet, it's still a lot of fun on its own. - cheap, easy and fast!

I have yet to see Dynamic clothing or hair that actually looks good.. However I do like Poser6's lighting better

Yes, but with Poser 4 there are a lot of options you can get with HDRI lights and other software. I still use my Poser 4 and I use my Poser 6.....:-) Sharen

Dynamic clothing can be good: an example I Did is here: http://www.changestorm.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-23 Dynamic hair, on the other hand..you have to have a computer from hell and a LOT of time to do dynamic hair. I do quite a bit of animation, and I stick with Poser 4 creations rendered in Vue/Mover whenever possible. When I can render dynamics in Vue, i'll probably stop using P4 for most things.

I've seen great dynamic hair. Such as Stew's rat fur.

People are just starting to tap the power of the Hair Room. Unfortunately, the dynamic hair that comes with Poser isn't ideal, for a variety of reasons. But people like Stew, Softriver, and Kirwyn are really finding out what the Hair Room can do if you "grown your own."

As for Poser Artist...if you don't need dynamic cloth and hair, consider DAZ|Studio instead. It does almost everything P4 does, and it's free, at www.daz3d.com.

Billy T has a good dynamic clothes animation on his site in the motion section called DRESS.mpg

About good-looking dynamic cloth, hmann does some great stuff. The dynamic hair by kirwyn and softriver is pretty awesome. RealDeal: you made that skirt and blouse look very good in that animation!
