Just started to use Bryce5 that I had bought a long time ago but never used till now. I was wondering if there is an update patch some where.

there used to be a 5.1 patch or something, might be on the DAZ site :) There's also a new patch worth $99.95 comming out called Bryce 5.5 :) it'll be there on may 5th :)

There is a 5.01 patch available from Corel, but if you bought from DAZ, the patch will already be included.

Thanks everybody I found the 5.1 patch in the Corel old products support section. Boy they are calling Bryce 5 an old product!!! Thanks again Bill

hehe that's 'cause Corel doesn't own Bryce anymore :P plus bryce 5 is old... Corel tried to let it die. Untill DAZ bought it :) Anything could happen with bryce now, bryce 5.5 is almost comming out, but I'm personally not too impressed by what I hear about it. Still, I'm hoping DAZ will surprise me with version 6. I think version 6's launch-date as well as feature will decide where bryce is going. My guess is it'll either slowly catch up with the competition, turn into a squeeky toy, or die.

I might spring for it myself, the terrain lab and materials are still very cool tools! That and I still tinker in it from time to time (it is still fun!)

The one big problem I have with Bryce are the Skys .
Incarnadine posted Thu, 28 April 2005 at 10:00 PM
How so? I found them pretty good myself. I do occasionally use them as a base for background textures in my cinema4D works.

The clouds have no definition. Skys are just a blur. Unless you want just a blue sky.

tweak your cloud procedurals or the skylab settings :) you can add definition that way...
