I created a pair of dynamic hipsters ages ago, I'll look to see if I still have them when I next get the chance.
here is an image of them in action :
is this the type of thing you want? thats dynamic hair too! not from the hair room mind you, conforming hair turned into dynamic cloth and run through a simulation!

Hi templargfx Just a question on the Dynamic hair from contorming hair. I tried to do this but all the parts just fell apart and floated to the ground and help? Thanks Grant

yes, they will do that, its simply (at time frustrating) a matter of running the dynamics and letting everything fall, then moving through the frames until the parts are seperated, but not folded over etc (around frame 10 in a 30 frame calculation is usually good) and and selecting the vertices for the scalp, and the tops of the hair strips (the parts of the strips that are in/touch the scalp). a point to remember, don't I repeat DO NOT have self collision turned on unless you want 300+ seconds of calcs per frame!
