I'm trying to create sidewall of a tire and I want to achieve something like the image above. I already tried "bend" but this command trasforms the image also except from bending it.

There's a specific tool for that in Illustrator, and it's fairly easy to figure out -- just draw out the path, or create a circle, select the tool, click on the path and voila, you should be able to type on it. As for Photoshop, the Create Warped Text seems to work okay if you fiddle with the settings enough. Simply type out the text, go to the top toolbar where you see the T on a bent path (with three dots) icon, click that, and fiddle with the settings under the Arc style option. There might be better ways, but I have old version of both programs and don't know them. Hope this helps! :)

I know how to do it with a text. but I want to apply a drawing on a path, not text.

Thanks aprilgem. Maybe it's not 100% what I wanted, but it helped me a lot. I'll use that method. Thanks again for your help.

it's a tough effect to get with the "pixel" based app like PS... Illustrator or even Flash seems better suited to use in conjunction with PS. :) retrocity

Yeah, what retrocity said. :) I thought of another way to do it in Illustrator, btw. Make the graphic a brush, make a circle, then apply the brush to the circle. You should get the same effect as in my sample. I've done it with a celtic brush pattern I made a long time ago, so I know it works. ;)

Can I ask comething else? How can I convert a shape to a path? I created a circle but when I try typing on it, does not doing anything. (I talking about Illustrator, in Photoshop I know how to do it)

Your shape has a path. In Illustrator you need to use the "Type on a Path Tool" if you want to type around the circle. If you want to type within the circle then you use the "Area Type Tool".
