That is a bit odd. Anyone else notice the same effect with 5.0 / 5.5 saves?

I've also noticed it with my first 5.5 render. took forever as a b5 scene file, once i saved it, boom, it started working. don't know if that's exactly it, but everything else was the same in teh background.

another one? what, we're going through the alphabet? "DAZ released it's twenty-something'th update for Bryce 5.5 today in a bid to quell public riots outside its offices. The new patch, labelled Bryce 5.5z_01 is the latest incarnation of the successful 3D scenery software. Someone on the scene commented that he's still waiting for 5.5z_99, the real update, also called Bryce 6, sometime within hte next 2 years."

So if you open a Bryce 5 file and render its slow but if you open and resave the same into a Bryce 5.5 format it renders faster? What does that mean? I just hope its not at the expense of losing image quality.
draculaz posted Mon, 02 May 2005 at 6:01 AM
AX, i might be wrong, test it out yourself.
AgentSmith posted Mon, 02 May 2005 at 6:41 AM
"I just hope its not at the expense of losing image quality" Nope. IF there would be any difference at all in a 5.0 render vs. a 5.5 render, it just wouldn't be visable with the human eye in a normal comparison. At least (disclaimer), that has been my experience. AS

I noticed Drac has a real problem typing the word "the".

"The" is just the baloney filler for sentences. Absolutely unneccessary. But, tastes petty good when barbequed. AS

Only a brown belt Agent Smith? I thought you were at least on your first blackbelt in Bryce-fu....

ah..it's a quote from a short story called "I'm looking for Kadak", the only Yiddish sci-fi story I know. There's a dictionary afterwards, and the appelation to martial arts is in reference to the word 'putz'..;) After intense work of a year and a half, I made white belt..;)
