  1. Make sure you have lastest updates.
  2. Make sure NO other programs are running in the background ie Virus/ad/Zone alarm things of this nature.
  3. NO surfing while working in Vue5.
  4. Most of the time, I took the PZ3 and saved as .vob(Vue native object) & this helped tremdously. I still do this with complex characters & mats.

I had V5(now V5I) & the tops I could reach was around 7.5 mil polys before crash and I had 2g of Ram at that time.

That seems to warrant a service release REALLY soon! Having only one app running with 1 GIG of ram seems a real problem. Also, what of folks who have "always on" cable/DSL connections? Turning off virus and firewall programs are an accident waiting for a place to happen.

Unplug the cable too. Also disable programs that look for automatic updates so they won't be trying to look for the update with the cable unplugged.

LOL No thanks. I'll just wait for a service release before I upgrade. 8-)

Hallo! i have fixed the problem about importing poser in Vue and the message of low memory. Just setting the Open gl to HARDWARE and not SOFTWARE. In this way seems all ok, and ofcourse using only Vue and nothing else. Hope that this can help alsp other! Thanks to everybody! Stefanino

Add RAM. 1 Gig is nothing these days. I've got 4 G, Athlon64 3500+, and I have no problems importing pz3s into Vue5I, even if I leave Poser open at the same time. Disabling OpenGL also frees up a lot of RAM, especially if the Vue scene is getting complex. Saving out to .VOB is a very good idea indeed. I often import a single figure pz3, fix the materials, save as VOB, start a new scene, import next pz3, and so on. I composit the final scene from the saved VOBs. By the way, Vue 4.5 Pro has some memory bugs, it doesn't release memory when you start a new scene. Exiting and restarting helps. Vue5I also has some memory issues, but less severe than Vue 4.5 Pro. By the way, Vue 4.5 Pro incorrectly calculates free resources. Since Vue cannot use more than 2 GB of address space, free resources should be calculated with that 2 GB limit in mind. Vue5I calculates correctly.

The pen is mightier than the sword. But if you literally want to have some impact, use a typewriter
