James definitely looks the best of the Poser males so far. Nice family portrait!

One of the attractive things about the P6 figures is that they do look like an actual family. Both the P4 and P5 families look a little cartoony.
Francemi posted Wed, 04 May 2005 at 7:54 PM
That's true but it is odd that both "parents" have black hair and both kids have blond hair. ;o)

But if you consider that they are different generations...then you could say the kids got their hair from their grandparents (the family on the left)!!!!
Francemi posted Wed, 04 May 2005 at 9:50 PM
loll OR since they are young kids today in 2005, they probably had their hair dyed!!! EDITED: heu... if they take after their grandparents and their grandparents are the family on the left, then who is Jessi and who is James in that family? I thought their names were Will and Penny???

Maybe the kid on the left is "William James" and he decided he didn't like Will as an adult?
We know that the little girl on the left is NOT Jessi if the boy is William James (how else would they grow up, marry, and have the kids pictured in the middle if they were brother and sister???). Edited to add: I was an only child and often described as having an "over active imagination". It drove my grandmother nuts for me to turn her queen sized bed into a sailing ship that was sent to rescue victims of a ship wreck. The part that drove her nuts was the fact that I used her two cats as the victims!

The daughter of the family to the far right is just frightening.

Yeah, the center is the most realistic ones. The right are toonish (look that girl, ugh), and ... the ALIENS of left ... ewww

My hair was wheat blond as a child and it is now a dark ash, so who knows what those kids will end up with? OTOH, the milkman might have been delivering to that neighborhood for a long time. ;^) Carolly
Francemi posted Thu, 05 May 2005 at 4:38 AM
Well it might have been a few generations of milkmen... And I was blond also as a kid but not THAT blond! Seriously, even if they were bald, Jessi and James have the complexion of dark haired people while the 2 kids really have the complexion of blond haired people. Not that it matters that much because we don't see family pictures too often, but still.

acctually my son's and daughter's hair is both blonde where my wife and I have dark hair (no milkman and the mailman was black) and 2 of my sisters have blonde hair where my mom and dads are both dark. My grandfather (thier great grandfather) has blonde hair though. Or we assume that they are not related, and are all neighbors, then that means that P4 Dork gets around (and his nick name wasn't given to him for the obvious reason) ;)
hauksdottir posted Thu, 05 May 2005 at 6:58 AM
He might look like a dork, but if he brings flowers just because, helps fix things without being asked, and treats them with respect, he just might smile his way into many hearts on that block! Carolly

Umm ran out of time to add Judy Don and the gang, perhaps they're at their cult meeting (has to be some explaination as to why they are all wearing all white - even their shoes)

What I don't understand is why there aren't true casual versions of the P6 kids with the clothes attached to the model...
Rance01 posted Thu, 05 May 2005 at 10:30 AM
Ohh I see what you mean. Where the clothes are ACTUALLY part of the model. At first I thought you had missed a thumbnail because I indeed HAVE a BenCasual. Probably just easier to attached the clothes and hair to the existing model. I mean, to have a clothes attached figure would mean making a new figure ... Sure have come along way from MetaCreations P4 to Curious Labs P6. Pretty neat. Rance
Dsan posted Thu, 05 May 2005 at 11:24 AM
Woah! Thats crazy how much each "family" has changed over the years. The P6 family looks best! Great idea!!
hauksdottir posted Thu, 05 May 2005 at 6:17 PM
One thing I'd like to see is family-based morph sets... so that we could do family pictures with kids looking somewhat like their parents! "She has her mother's eyes and her father's dimples" or "he has his granddad's ears... like a car with both doors open."
PapaBlueMarlin posted Thu, 05 May 2005 at 6:46 PM
LOL @ Carolly - then they might be a bit too unimeshy...
LostinSpaceman posted Thu, 05 May 2005 at 8:54 PM
Hey where can I find some clothes for the P4 Nude Boy & Girl? I never realised they didn't have any til now. How's that for senile?
Francemi posted Thu, 05 May 2005 at 9:20 PM
I've had Poser for a year and I never realized that... just to say how often I posed P4 kids. ;o) But Rance seems to have found some... where did you find them Rance? And BTW, do they have names???

Thanks Mizrael, Actually great work has been done with the P4 family. I've seen really fantastic renders with Possette. I didn't want to mess with any of the figures too much for the pic starting this thread. The idea was kind of 'Out of the Box' as in right out of the box. When P6 came out, in a great act of faith, I un-installed both Poser 5 and, at long last, Poser Pro Pack - which I had always kept loaded because of the bugs in P5. I wanted to start with a clean installation of all my Poser goodies. Finding there was no 'easy' hair for the Poser 5 family I went to my archived P5 Runtime DVD to pull out the Neftis hair examples. Really great items those ... What a great hobby, huh? Thanks everyone, Rance
PapaBlueMarlin posted Fri, 06 May 2005 at 2:33 PM
Mizrael, he used the casual versions of the P4, P5, and P6 figures. There are no true casual versions of the P6 kids because the clothes are not apart of the model...
