I purchased Bryce 5.5 a week ago and have been going through the tutorials. I did the one with the 2 terrain mountains and then the negative terrain that creates a lake bed then you fill it with water. I like how that turned out, but I want to add an ocean behind the 2 mountains. This would then look like maybe you are up behind these to mountains but then looking down on an ocean. So I tried to added a second negative "ocean bed"...and fill it with water too. however this new water just spreads over onto the lake water. I tried to move the Y down and its either level with the lake water or not visable at all. If it is visable then it spreads all over the place. Is there a way to do what I am trying?

the water is an invinitive plain so it will always show trough , you could make a cube and give it a water 3dtexture make it big though.

for some free stuff i made
and for almost daily fotos

Not sure if you want my shot or his, but here is where I am so far... I want water behind those 2 mountains but not in front except for the pond.

Ok... Group the Mountains and trees and the Lake together and then Raise up a Little above the Ground Plane,Then select the Ground Plane and add your Water Material... For the Lake use a 2D plane and just position it where the Lake is and no Bigger..I will show you what I mean...BRB..

1.Is a Quick Render to show the scene I did to simulate yours... 2. is Right Camera view and shows I have Lited the Groups above the WaterPlane... 3. Is a Wireframe showing I used a Box for the Lake...

is the 2d plane you speak of just a ground plane?

Nope the Square in the create Menu... Or use a Box instead....Flatten it and fit it to fit to the Lake..
