Hi I just finished the last test and put them together the quality is low because of the jpg compression but ok you can see what I mean. First of all I created fresh and new light in the scene then using the automatic button in the Material Room I just created the IBL and manually changes the setting as it show above, please test self and see what you can get for your self, it works really in a very nice way. Thank you and I hope it help you a little bit more if you have any questions please let me know. Hugs! Cath

looks cool... I can't wait to see more :)

To make this test complete I used the 2 virtual balls to see if they match the light as the real one. B and C are Virtual 3D Balls and A & D are real from the photo.

Is there a lighting difference between the man on the building and him falling with the angular AO?

OT - on the subject of HDR in general this might be enlightening:

How did you create the angular map from normal photo? I have converted some real hdri images in shade to work in P6, but would still like to know how you did it wirh normal photo.

Mec4D posted Thu, 12 May 2005 at 12:13 AM

beryld Poser6 don't support hdri format only image format, the hdri for poser are LRDI ( Low Dynamic Range Images ) that works perfect in Poser, they was done using HDR Shop V2 Poser support on best angular map , you can make them also using Light probe a very quick way without cost ;) I made all new light set for poser already, The Chrome Portrait Studio, I made all maps from Latitude real HDRI format so this works fantastic. You have to use the LDRI for Poser from normal photos Poser6 don't support REAL HDRI backgrounds so the light will be wrong, only what you can get in the background of Poser you can use for the Angular Maps here little preview of the new natural light sets Cath

Tomorrow my dear Stef... in the Showcase Gallery, don't want to make any big advertising here right now...but the light is really cool and works with every figure and prop and don't change the natural color what is important and very quick to render. I used one of them in message # 14 and 15 Cath

OK, Thanks, I forgot I have the free version of HDR Shop. I can't use it for commercial but for my own use, it's fine. Will be looking in on your light set in the Showcase Gallery too. It is a shame that CL didn't add .hdr format to P6 like it is used in Shade. Guess that would have made to much sence.

Mec4D posted Thu, 12 May 2005 at 8:28 AM

Yes beryld it is a shame, every app use it today and it is so simple... btw I made own version of :HDRI: for Poser for the 360 light and reflections around the model please view my last image in my gallery here at renderosity.. it is so simple way But now I discovered something new and that is much different prop that will simulate the world around, it will be done very soon for everyone as free version but need some testing time first. Hugs! Cath

Excellent work as always Cath!! :-) I am happily waiting to see what wonders you have come up with for us.

Mec4D posted Thu, 12 May 2005 at 12:50 PM

thank you yelocloud.. it will be not a wonder, but it is wonderful how it works, I made some new study regarding reflections and light and I put it inside Poser on my own logic way... Next week I go to create my own Light Probe mobile studio to take the photos of the light , positions of the sun and light value for outside.. from research I know that there is a new way to use the material to recreate the reality in Poser too.. it is exciting and I can't wait.. the in door light sets was quick because I know so much about it already because of my 10 years long work with but outside light is much more interesting now for me especially when I go to integrate it inside Poser and trust me it will be perfect...with a mouse click Hugs! Cath
