Hello everyone! Welp, I just signed up and an new here and am seeking assistance. My background: I'm a software and web developer by profession and NOT a 3D artist and have only a n00b understanding of your industry at best. I am Macromedia Certified and have extensive experience in website development but nothing but a 1st lesson intro in 3D-Max and Poser. (the equivalent of a "hello world" lesson in the programmign world. I need "Eddie" (the infamous Iron Maiden mascot) for a current volunter project and woud llike to know if anyone knows where I might be able to locate him on the net? I do not need to know how to animate him or anything, I just need a model so I can place him into set posses. Does anyone know where I can find one on the internet? Hi! As far as I know there is no Eddie in the "Poser"-universe around. It's probably a copyright issue. Somebody has to model Eddie for you, which is probably overstreching your budget. But maby you are lucky and somebody else has spoted Eddie somewhere. Good luck!

that's a shame - I'm a big Iron Maiden fan and I'd love to have an eddie model - even if it waws just the head

Hi pizzathahut A friendly word to the wise here, be VERY carefull how and where you use the 'Eddy' figure. There IS indeed a copywrite issue and I can tell you for an absolute certainty that 'Maiden's management actively look out for ANY commercial use of their copywrited material and will come down with a great deal of weight on offenders. Don't take this the wrong way, 'just a friendly piece of advice. I have had dealing's with the lad's in Iron Maiden (NOT through copywrite infringement i might add) and they are all fiercly protective of their creation's.

Yeah I understand ads am aware. thanks for the heads up. The project I'm working on is for a tribute Band in the UK which Paul Di'Anno is touring with this summer.

They want a new site, because Di'anno is a part of the band their for this tour and the band is a Maiden tribute band I have full access to Eddie. But no one from Maiden has gotten back to me in regards to any 3D models of Eddie.

I think they hold him under lock and key ever since that stink a couple years back with teh album cover which was done in Poser and everyone but the band hated.

In regards to having someone model him, well... I'm not getting paid all that much but I will be receiving autographed T-Shirts, cd's, a few copies of Di'annos book and some other things. If a fan was interested in modeling eddie, I could try to get Di'anno to send you some signed stuff. Or give the artist credit on the band site with a link to the artist portfolio.

Just looked, Skellis might work... sweet.

There's a guy who created a 3D model of Eddie for fun... I remember seeing it in his gallery, and that guys gotta be one of the most seriously talented dudes ever. I can NOT remember the link (I deleted it not more then a few weeks ago), but he had a CG version of Aragon he made, plus some pirate characters he did, and a few tutorials. It was a dark blue/black website... maybe someone else remembers it? You might be able to work something out with him.
