Hi, re the DazNewsletter.

If one has the free version of Michael (and Vicki) that Daz gave away, does one need a skeleton for it, if yes - why?

You dont need it unless you need a skeleton for that Creepy scene..Or if you need to do some Medical research for Illustrative Purposes...

You can still use a tile-able image texture on the new skeleton from DAZ. You could apply it, I would wrap it object cubic, and then go about choosing various bones and randomly tweaking/changing the settings. This works great if you have say, a skeleton reaching for and near the Bryce camera. Those parts nearest the camera, can be "scaled up", thus increasing the density of the texture, and making it look less pixelated. AS

If I understetnd, this textures for Skellingtons !?

FranOnTheEdge posted Sat, 14 May 2005 at 5:36 AM

It's just that it sounded like quite a good deal, but I was concerned that I may get a skeleton and then not be able to use it with the free-michael version and would have to go buy the pay-for-michael, like I did with the FireDragon - having to go buy the Millenium Dragon just to use the FireDragon... (not having understood properly that what LOOKED like a firedragon, was in fact merely a mat or texture) (First time buyer apart from the Bryce Programs - see?) It did say that the skeleton fits inside Michael (and V3) - so THAT'S why I wondered about having the "proper" version of the figures. Fran

hmm..could be some confusion over 'boning' (rigging the object to be able to move, ya dirty-minded..;) I've used the Poser skeleton with an old stone mat a while back, and no particular problems..
